Description

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut has a unique and exciting new professional development opportunity for you with our next Creative Notebook Series!

Have you ever experienced anxiety when you’ve been faced with speaking in public, making a presentation, speaking to clients, customers, or your boss or team? Perhaps, you’ve landed that important job interview and you are anxious about how to present yourself in the best light?

You are not alone.

Fear of public speaking is experienced by at least 73% of all people!

You have an authentic presence, and you can learn tools to fully access it, whenever you need or want to – public speaking or job interviews – and more! No matter whether you are a creative, entrepreneur, or you are looking for the job of a lifetime!

This workshop is for you!

If you’re like most people with a fear of public speaking, you’ve searched online, read books, and gotten all kinds of tips.
But this workshop is different.

Spoken Strong is a method which builds personal internal and external tools through a series of activities based on positive psychology, self-efficacy, and mindfulness. Through understanding and practice, you will be able to achieve mindful presence, and directly connect that presence to your interactions and personal effectiveness.

Spoken Strong is a method, not just tips to be a better public speaker – it’s a complete and effective program.

In other words, you will learn how to leverage these tools to effectively build self-efficacy, reduce stressors, and identify “key points of light” within your own presence.

Create new and positive mental feedback loops.

You will learn and practice exercises using your body language to create changes of mind, thus creating new, positive mental feedback loops.

You’ll experience whole-person integrated learning!

Participants will connect the learning from the first three outcomes to specific voice and body language practice. This includes, but is not limited to, breathing, tone, intonation and inflection, posture, gesture, eye contact, and stillness vs. movement.

Connect with your intended audience.

You will also learn about the importance of understanding the needs of your intended audience, and how that knowledge can connect to the internal and external tools you now have.

Nothing short of amazing!

In summary, you’ll learn about the importance and value of “Body to Mind Connectors” in reducing the stress of public speaking. Through activities, practice and group reflection, these connectors will become a key piece of your takeaway that will help you to continue your personal development going forward.
